I'm going to introduce you all to EarthCozy!  EarthCozy is my really awesome Etsy shop ( I may be biased to it's awesome-ness).  It is the place I sell my crochet, knit, & sewn creations.

I learned to crochet from my mother-in-law way back when my kiddo was just a newborn.  I wanted to make hats and things for our new babe and once I learned the basics of crochet (and taught myself the basics of knitting as well) I was hooked! Get it? hahah like a crochet hook?!? HA! Anyway...

So while Bug
was really new and slept all the time I would just spend all my time crocheting/knitting, reading about crocheting/knitting, and Youtube-ing how to make.... EVERYTHING.

I was amazed at how much I could learn just by going on Youtube...  I started accumulating a lot of finished projects (baby beanies and really simple headbands) and I was so proud of myself ! And that got me thinking.... There was no way Jackson would ever wear all of them and I didn't want them just sitting around and being useless; so I had to figure out something to do with them....Etsy Shop! That's the first thing that popped into my head because I've ordered a thing or two from some Etsy shops; and I had since then fallen in LOVE with everything Etsy.

The idea of running my own shop quickly became very very appealing to me. My own artistic space.  The thought of people wanting and owning my creations ... YES please.  And so it began. It took months of planning, finding patterns, creating, and taking product pictures to feel like I had it under control .  But once that was all taken care of , I felt I could really get my shop rolling ! I even ordered business cards :) Thanks you Vistaprint!

The response to my shop once it was open was AWESOME. I could see that many many people were viewing and adding my things to their ' favorites' lists . I told myself that I would have to sell my stuff at some vendor/craft fairs too, not just online. I felt that it would be a great way for me to show my work, hand out my business cards, and get my shop out there. I ended up doing 3 shows my first season and they went GREAT.  About 1 million times better than I could have ever hoped for.  At the last fair I worked, I nearly sold out! It was such an incredible experience and such a confidence boost as a new shop owner.

I have had shop open for a few years now and it is still so much fun and a huge source of pride and joy for me. My shop has evolved and grown over the years as well.  I am currently adding new sewn items to my shop; Mug Hugs & doggie bandanas mostly.  I am very excited about them and the have had a really positive response in my shop! Yay! I plan on adding more things in the coming months...stay tuned!

Buffalo Plaid Mug Hug!
